Description:During the journey of Lord Shiva with the death body of his wife, several parts of ma satis by have fallen in various parts of the world. Shakti peeth mithila is known for falling of left shoulder of Devi sati. This female idol worshiped over there is known as Mahadevi where as Lord Shiva is provided with the title of Mahodara. Devi is also called as Uma by many eminent people.

Since Janakpuri is known as the birth place of Sita Mata, people have a wrong conception of believing the Janki madir as the popular Shakti peeth.
